We decided that for the opening for
our thriller we wanted a very simple title sequence, but one which had great
impact on the audience. First we considered having the title simply fade in and
out on a black screen; however we found that it was boring and had no
connection to our thriller. We then tried having each of the letters fall one
after the other to connect to the idea of being on the edge and create irony as
the previous shot had been our protagonist on the edge of a cliff about to
jump. Although, the idea was good and would have worked well in relation to our
thriller theme, it was quite a lengthy process editing each of the letters
and we found that we wouldn't have it done it time for the deadline.
So after having another experiment with the editing tools we
finally decided that the words 'Pushed to the' would slide in from the left
almost as if someone was pushing the one and then each of the letters of the
word 'edge' would fall one after the other, like
the girl their falling off the edge.
